Claws are a type of melee weapon in Curse of the Dead Gods. They are categorized as a Main Weapon.

There are currently 8 different Claws in the game.

Fighting Style[ | ]

Most Claws use similar attack moves. However, exceptions exist.

  • Normal attacks consist of four quick attacks followed by a finisher which deals increased damage and consumes 1 stamina point.
  • Charged attacks rush the player forward past the target, evading enemy attacks and projectiles, and then turning and striking in the opposite direction, dealing Critical Damage.

Claws are close-range weapons that are perfect for players with a nervous and fast playstyle. Their relatively low base damage is compensated by their high attack speed, which allows them to chain combos relatively quickly. In addition, their Charged Attacks give an additional movement option, which synergizes well with the Dagger's ability to land Critical Hits when hitting an enemy in the back. It is also a powerful attack in its own right.

However, their very short range forces the Player to remain very close to their targets, which can be dangerous, and largely prevents them from hitting several enemies at once. Moreover, the fact that it is impossible to chain Charged Attacks on a given enemy (the resulting dash will overshoot them) means that you can't spam Critical Hits, which reduces the viability of Critical Damage-oriented builds.
