Curses are one of the main twists of Curse of the Dead Gods. They apply new rulesets and effects to create different experiences in the exploration.
There are currently 3 types of Curses: General Curses, Jaguar Temple Curses and Final Curses. Each of them has different specificities.

Gameplay
A Corruption gauge at the bottom right of the screen indicates how much your character is corrupted. Each time the gauge is filled up to 100, your character faces a new Curse. They are randomly selected among a pool of Curses detailed below. Most of Curses have downsides and upsides, adding new rules in the Temple and making the exploration significantly harder or more challenging.
The Corruption gauge fills up by opening doors, making blood offerings, or getting hit by dark powers.
You can get up to 4 Curses before suffering the 5th and Final Curse. To be relieved of a Curse, you need to defeat a Champion or a Boss. The game will then let you choose which of your active Curses you wish to get rid of.
